2026 UPDATE

Hello everyone! It's been a busy couple months, I got fired ("low productivity") a month before my move, and then I packed up and moved from Texas to Colorado with my boyfriend! I also started a new job and started my master's in social work. Honestly it's going pretty well. The new job is super boring, I'm there now. It's a mental health/addiction group home, we do the occasional activities with the residents and give them their meds but those are all at least 1-3 hours apart, so there's several hours of "find something to do" time. My coworkers are kinda wacky characters, but it kind of offsets the boringness of most of my classmates, if I'm being honest. My classes have a lot of rich white kids who have mastered the art of super liberal language but don't actually have a left-wing mindset. There's a few exceptions of course but I lowkey am more bored by it, and fit in less, than I expected.
I like the vintage/antique stores around the city, though! It's different than Texas. Things are often a little bit more expensive than in Texas but not shockingly so. I bought an MP3 player from 2005 yesterday, a Creative MuVo TX FM. And it's red! I love bright red tech. My 2012 Nikon Coolpix and a couple of my other cameras are the same color. I also realize I got a 1962 Silvertone Transistor Radio a while back I meant to show off but forgot. It requires a weird battery, it's the exact size of a AA but needs the power of a 9V. It's $20 online I just haven't committed yet...
